A Lifetime of Lessons in Holistic Healing
I have been practicing medicine for over 40 years, and I’ve learned a few things along the way.
People who eat a healthy diet, exercise regularly, get enough sleep, and enjoy their families, friends, and lives tend to live longer, richer lives. That’s not surprising—and that kind of intentional, mindful living is the foundation of good health.
But I’ve also learned that for some people, no amount of clean eating or exercise can lower their cholesterol to safe levels. For those patients, statin drugs—backed by overwhelming scientific evidence—have been proven to lower cholesterol and prolong life.
Likewise, some patients simply cannot control their blood pressure through diet, exercise, or stress reduction alone. For them, blood pressure medications can provide decades of protection from stroke, heart attack, and kidney disease.
The best health outcomes come not from rejecting science or ignoring nature—but from embracing the balance and synergy between the two. Recently we have added a third root to the tree – Regenerative Healing. Taken together, this is true Holistic Healing.
Why Is Traditional Medicine Like It Is?
Prior to penicillin and antibiotics less than 100 years ago, medicine had very little to offer. Infections were often fatal, and there was little doctors could do beyond supportive care. Penicillin changed that—it made World War II the first war in history where more people died from actual wounds than from infection.
In the years that followed, two major developments shaped the trajectory of modern medicine. First, the pharmaceutical industry exploded, built on the promise of a “better life through pharmaceuticals.” Second, the health insurance industry grew rapidly, aiming to make healthcare more accessible—but in doing so, it began to dictate how care was delivered, approved, and paid for.
Together, these forces—pharmaceutical dominance and insurance-driven care—have defined what we now think of as “traditional medicine.” And while both have brought undeniable advances, they’ve also created a system that can lose sight of the whole person and the true goal of healing.
Unfortunately, economic pressures and the drive for profit have increasingly shaped medical decisions. Just watch the evening news—many of the commercials are for drugs treating conditions you’ve barely heard of. This relentless marketing promotes the idea that there’s a pill for everything. As a result, we’ve seen an overuse of medications and procedures—not always because they’re the best option, but because they are profitable.
Sometimes, making money seems to take precedence over promoting true health and wellness.
At Innovations Stem Cell Center, we believe there’s a better way—one where care is guided by what’s best for the patient, not what’s best for the bottom line.

🌱 Root 1: Natural Healing – Supporting the Body’s Design
Holistic healing is often misunderstood. To some, it means rejecting pharmaceuticals altogether. To others, it’s about relying solely on lifestyle changes. But we believe true holistic care integrates the strengths of all approaches.
Natural health forms the first root of holistic healing. It supports the body’s innate ability to heal, through:
🥗 Nutrition that reduces inflammation and supports cellular repair
🧘♂️ Movement that stimulates circulation and joint health
🛌 Sleep that allows recovery and hormonal balance
❤️ Relationships that promote mental and emotional well-being
🧠 Stress reduction through mindfulness and calming breathing practices
More and more people today are looking to address the root cause of their health issues—not just manage symptoms. Natural healing practices support this goal by restoring balance, correcting dysfunction, and empowering long-term wellness from the inside out.
These foundational practices are powerful—and essential.
But true holistic healing can do more by integrating science and regeneration to support deeper healing.
🔬 Root 2: Scientific Medicine – Evidence-Based Tools That Save Lives
Modern science has given us life-saving tools. Medications and procedures—when used appropriately—can dramatically improve quality of life and longevity.
We support the responsible and personalized use of medical treatments, including:
🩺 Pharmaceuticals for evidence-based preventive care, such as managing high cholesterol or blood pressure to reduce long-term risks of heart attack, stroke, and kidney disease. Studies have shown significant long-term benefits:
The ASCOT Legacy Study demonstrated reduced cardiovascular mortality over 16 years.
A 20-year follow-up of ASCOT confirmed ongoing reductions in heart attack and coronary death.
The North Karelia Project achieved an 82% drop in cardiovascular mortality through public health efforts.https://heart.bmj.com/content/early/2025/03/25/heartjnl-2024-325104
🧪 Evidence-based diagnostics to guide decisions
🦤 Procedures that prevent severe outcomes or improve function
At Innovations, science isn’t the enemy of holistic healing—it’s a vital pillar.
We embrace proven medical advances—especially when natural methods are not sufficient or available—as part of a thoughtful, integrated approach to healing.
🧬 Root 3: Regenerative Medicine – Healing from Within
There is a third, often overlooked root of holistic medicine: healing using the body’s own biologic tools.
This includes:
🧪 Adipose-Derived Stem Cells
Collected from your own fat under local anesthesia
Rich in regenerative and anti-inflammatory properties
Can help repair damaged tissue and reset immune function toward a healthier balance
Helps normalize inflammation and immune activity—offsetting the effects of poor diet, environmental toxins, chronic stress, and modern lifestyle burdens
Avoids foreign or donor tissues—unlike umbilical or allogeneic stem cells, which carry compatibility and immune risks
Yields a significantly higher number of stem cells than bone marrow
Harvesting is less invasive and more comfortable than bone marrow aspiration
🩸 Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
Drawn from your blood and spun to concentrate growth factors
Injected to promote repair of joints, tendons, and soft tissues
Used for arthritis, tendonitis, injury, and more
These are natural, minimally invasive, and scientifically grounded.
Not alternative. Not experimental. This is regenerative medicine.
